Overview

The NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award provides a best practice introduction to workplace health, safety, and risk that is relevant to all industry sectors. The course content is delivered in an understandable and accessible way and will help you to:
  • gain an awareness of common workplace hazards so you can help to implement or maintain your organisation’s health and safety management system
  • gain practical skills that can help keep yourself and others safeour organisation’s health and safety management system
  • apply the principles of risk assessment
  • have a positive impact on health and safety in your workplace.
This is a replacement qualification for the Health and Safety at Work Qualification

Course Assessment

After completing the course, you will be asked to complete a workplace health and safety review which:
  • Considers how health and safety is managed, and how it could be done better
  • Identifies health and safety issues, how they are controlled and if the risk can be reduced
  • Select the most important issue for improvement
    • This assessment is designed to test your ability to put into practice what you have learnt and, as it is carried out in the workplace, can add instant value to your organisation. Once you have achieved a pass, a qualification parchment will be issued within 20 working days of the confirmation of the successful unit.

The NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Qualification provides a perfect introduction to health and safety in the workplace.

The qualification covers the principles of health and safety rather than specific law. Its focus is on common workplace hazards and how to identify and control them. The qualification includes a practical requirement to carry out a risk assessment.

No prior knowledge is required and the content is relevant wherever you work around the world. This means it is accessible to all.

There is also the option to tailor content covering specific hazards and risks faced by a company or sector.

The NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award (HSA) is a practical, bite-sized qualification that provides an excellent foundation in health and safety principles in an easy-to-understand format. It is a Level 2 qualification on the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and is internationally recognised.

NEBOSH IGC is better since it covers core part of Health and Safety Management Systems based on ILO. Also, it gives broader knowledge in Controlling Workplace Hazards. Whereas, HSA covers only surface part of Hazards Identification and doesnt give clear picture in depth like NEBOSH IGC. So, IGC is better choice.

NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work is suitable for managers/team leaders, supervisors, HR professionals, facilities managers and individuals who are in training environment.

Even though it is a basic foundation course about occupational health and safety, you can get a job as sometimes there is lot of requirement during shutdown period in oil and gas plants.
